Charles was born on February 21st, 1942 and passed away on
April 4th, 2025 at the age of 83CHARLES LEE PHILLIPS WAS BORN AND RAISED IN HILLSBORO, TEXAS. FROM AN EARLY AGE CHARLIE HAD A PASSION FOR CARS AND MUSIC. HE BEGAN WORKING AS AN AUTO MECHANIC AT THE AGE OF 14 AND WAS A MEMBER OF THE SHIFTERS CAR CLUB OF HILLSBORO AND CEDAR HILL CRUISERS CLUB.
CHARLIE WAS A GREAT COUNTRY AND WESTERN SINGER AND HE AND HIS BANDS WERE WELL KNOWN AROUND THE WACO AREA. HIS OTHER INTERESTS AND HOBBIES INCLUDED WATCHING WESTERNS AND DALLAS COWBOYS FOOTBALL, FISHING, DANCING, ROLLER SKATING AND PLAYING SANTA AT CHRISTMAS.
CHARLIE MET HIS WIFE SHERIDA (SKIP/SKIPPY) IN WEST, TEXAS AND THEY MARRIED IN 1965. CHARLIE AND SKIP MOVED TO CEDAR HILL IN 1976 WHERE HE OPENED CHARLIE'S CAR CARE AND BUILT MANY HOT RODS OVER THE YEARS.
THEIR HOUSE WAS A HOME TO ALL AND HE WAS A FATHER FIGURE TO HIS COUNTLESS NIECES AND NEPHEWS. THEY RETIRED TO LAKE WHITNEY IN
2007 WHERE THEY HAD SPENT MANY PAST SUMMERS CAMPING AND BOATING WITH FAMILY.
CHARLIE WAS BAPTIZED AT DALLAS FIRST CHURCH IN 2023 AND PASSED AWAY
PEACEFULLY AT HOME SURROUNDED BY HIS LOVED ONES.
CHARLIE IS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS MOTHER RUTH, MOTHER-IN-LAW EVELYN, AND HIS BELOVED BROTHERS AND SISTERS-IN-LAW MICK & JACK, DICK & DEENA, GENE, GAYLE, BILL & WILMA, GARY, LULU AND JOE. CHARLIE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE OF 60 YEARS, SON SCOT & WIFE DAWN, DAUGHTER KATH & HUSBAND HUD, SON BRYAN & WIFE KELLY, GRANDSON MASON & WIFE STEPHANIE, GREAT-GRANDDAUGHTERS REAGAN & MADISON, SISTER LINDA, SISTER CAREN & BROTHER-IN-LAW HARLAN, BROTHER BOBBY RAY, SISTERS-IN-LAW BETTE, SUSAN, DONNA, JANE & JUDI & HIS MANY NIECES & NEPHEWS.
