Charles W. "Chuck" Phillips, 74, of Oley, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Reading Hospital, West Reading, PA.
Born January 1, 1951, in West Reading, Chuck was the son of the late Charles W. and Sarah H. (Keller) Phillips. Chuck and the love of his life, his wife of 52 years, Glenda L. (Reider) Phillips, were married on June 9, 1973, in St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Fleetwood.
Chuck was a 1968 graduate of Fleetwood Area High School. He went on to work in the motor room at Mack Trucks for 17 years. Chuck also worked at the Garden State Tannery, Fleetwood, where he did leather work, dyeing and cutting. He finished his career, retiring in 2014 from Interstate Container, where he was known as the "cook" for his excellent dye mixing ability.
Chuck was a member of GT North Church, Kutztown, where all who came to church would be greeted with his warm and welcoming smile. Chuck loved his church, and loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren, and made amazing walking sticks.
In addition to his wife, Glenda, Chuck is survived by his daughter, Lauren B. (Phillips) Steinmetz, wife of Justin A. Steinmetz, Temple, his grandchildren, Leah, Kayla, Aiden and Hannah, his brothers and sisters, Deanna (Phillips) Brunner, widow of Richard Brunner, Walnuttown, Linda (Phillips) Stern, wife of Daniel Stern, Fleetwood, Daniel Phillips, husband of Rita (Williams) Phillips, Fleetwood, and Timothy Phillips, husband of Rosanne Phillips, Walnuttown.
Along with his parents, Chuck was proceeded in death by his brother, Ronald Phillips and his sister, Janet (Phillips) Kline.
A Celebration of Life for Chuck will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11:00 am at GT North Church, 14512 Kutztown Rd, Fleetwood. A visitation for Chuck will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the church.
Burial will take place privately in Friedens Cemetery, Oley.
