Charles Edward Polotzola, age 80, a figure in his community, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 24,2025, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Opelousas, La. He was born on February 16, 1945, in Opelousas, Louisiana, and was a resident of Melville for many years.

Charles dedicated his life to his work as a carpenter, contributing to local plants and home construction projects. His craftsmanship reflected his commitment to quality and his pride as a proud member of the Local 1098 Carpenter's Union in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Beyond his work, Charles's spiritual journey led him to serve as a minister for six years at the Simmesport United Pentecostal Church, and he continued to play an important role at the First Pentecostal Church in Melville until his retirement. His lifelong dedication to his faith demonstrated his profound connection to his community and the lives he touched through his ministry.

An avid outdoorsman, Charles found joy in deer hunting, embracing the tranquility of nature. His warmth and generous spirit will be remembered by many who had the privilege of knowing him.

Charles is survived by his sons, Carlos Polotzola, Anthony Polotzola, and Nathan Polotzola (Donna), and his daughters, Shelly Jacobs (Brent) and Ashley White (Dale). He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who were a source of immense pride and joy in his life.

Preceding him in death are his beloved wife, Stella Polotzola; his parents, Carlo and Beulah Vigie Polotzola; and his brother, Anthony "Man" Polotzola. Charles’s legacy is one of love, faith, and commitment, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
