Charles Raymond Potter III, 76, of York, PA, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025, at Kingston Court Nursing. Born on October 5, 1948, in York, he was the son of the late Charles "Bud" Potter Jr. and Ruth Potter.
Charles dedicated his career to his work as an electrician and was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). He was also a devoted Mason, carrying those values with him throughout his life. A true master railroader, he found great joy in building and running his model Colorado railroad. He had a deep love for history and cherished the companionship of his dogs over the years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Potter; his children, Chuck Potter and Sheri Mercado and her husband James; his grandchildren, Zachary Potter (married to Brittany) and Ricky Mercado; and his great-grandchildren, Desirae Getz, Kyler Potter, Kayden Potter, and Hadley Potter. He is also survived by his siblings, Gwenn Bloss (and husband John), Debra Kostiha (and husband Mike), Dennis Potter, Doug Potter, and Greg Potter.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Rick Potter.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, October 6, 2025, at John W. Keffer Funeral Home, 902 Mt. Rose Avenue, York, PA. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m.
Charles will be remembered for his dedication, his passions, and the love he shared with his family and friends.
