Charles Railsback Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Serenity Funeral Home of Bluffdale on Jan. 29, 2026.
Charles Randell (Randy) Railsback, age 74, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, after bravely enduring 12 years of cancer along with multiple other health challenges. Born on June 1, 1951, Randy lived a life defined by faith, hard work, service, sports and devotion to family.

Randy is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Kathy Railsback, and their children: Melanie (Hector) Fausett, Kara Mae (Travis), Scott (Jennifer) Railsback, Darrin (Kristen) Railsback, and Shawna (Bryan) Beall. He was a proud grandfather to 23 grandchildren and two great-grand daughters, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.

He was a devoted husband who lovingly provided for his family and worked side by side with his dear wife, building a life rooted in love and loyalty. He also cherished his relationships with his siblings and remained closely connected to family and friends throughout his life.

A man known for his unwavering work ethic, Randy dedicated his career to serving others. He worked with the Utah Highway Patrol, Juvenile Justice Services, and as a bus driver for the Carbon and Alpine school districts, where he was respected for his reliability, kindness, and care for those around him. He was an avid athlete and remained a devoted sports fan throughout his life. He made lifelong friendships and many memories on the racquetball court and golf course. He always accepted a good challenge, loved to budget, and offered words of wisdom to all. He loved things meticulously maintained, from his cars to his yard. Nothing was better than a fresh, homegrown tomato out of the garden.

Above all else, Randy treasured his testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Argentine mission was a cornerstone in his life and lead to many years of serving others. His faith sustained him through years of illness, and throughout it all he demonstrated courage, perseverance, and trust in the Lord beyond belief. His quiet strength and enduring hope were a powerful example to all who knew him.

Randy will be deeply missed and forever loved by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. We're grateful he's no longer in pain and can reunite with his mom and dad, and other loved ones that have passed on before him. His legacy of faith, service, and love will continue to live on through generations.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 7, at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 1680 West 700 South, Lehi, Utah 84043. For additional information please visit Serenity Funeral Home at www.serenityfhs.com

A special thanks to Dr. Nathan Rich for supporting him through his cancer journey and CNS Hospice for providing great care in his final days.
