Charles Howard Rhodes, born February 12, 1946, at St. Paul Hospital in Dallas, Texas to Howard W. and Ina Faye Rhodes, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his beloved family on April 13, 2023, at the age of 77.
Charles, a United States Air Force Veteran, served overseas in Okinawa, Guam, Philippines, and Vietnam. He was proud of the 4 years he dedicated to service. He married Linda Wallace in Delaware in 1968; since 1977 they have shared a home in Emory, Texas. Charles retired from L-3 Communications as a Logistics Coordinator. He was a wonderful, loving husband, dad and a special papaw to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He had a passion for fishing and visiting Rockport, Texas. He valued spending time with his family and became feisty during a mean game of aggravation. His support and love for his family meant everything to him. Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 55 years, Linda; daughter Robyn Rene Gossett, son Christopher Wayne Rhodes; grandsons Devon McCasland & wife Kara, Dillon Gossett & wife Bethany, Dane Gossett, Dusty Rhodes and Tristan Rhodes; great-grandchildren Layne Parker Gossett, Wade Everett McCasland, Sage Ellis McCasland and Coleson Lee Gossett; sister Darlene & husband Larry Castleberry; nephew John Boykin & wife Michelle; many extended family and many dear friends.
