Charles Edward "Charlie Pete" Riser, 75, of Oak Hill, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024 at CAMC Plateau Medical Center. 

Born March 3, 1949 at Fayette County, he was the son of the late James W. and Louise (Rice) Riser. 

Charlie Pete served in the United States Army from 1968-1971 spending one year in Vietnam. He obtained an Associates Degree in the field of electrician from Beckley College. He was employed as a coalminer in many different capacities for over 35 years. He was a member of the Masons Lodge. Charlie Pete loved his family more than anything in this world. He loved fishing, camping, hunting, riding motorcycles, dancing with his wife,  and spending time with his family at Smith Mountain Lake. He enjoyed attending Carlisle Church of God for many years and loved his church family. 

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother, James Wilbur Riser; and sister, Nancy Sue (Riser) Stover. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Margot (Ward) Riser; two sons, Charles Edward Riser, Jr. and Lewis James Riser; four grandchildren, Matthew Grant Riser, Jesse Wayne Riser, Jarred Dean Riser, Samuel James Riser; great granddaughter, Aubrey Lynn Riser; cousin, Carol "Sis" Lester and her husband, Keith; nephew, Jay Riser; and three nieces, Beckley Ferguson, Donna Carrington, and Teresa Gosling. 

In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated, and a memorial service will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, December 28, 2024 at the Carlisle Church of God with Pastor Melvin Adkins officiating.
