Charles A. "Chuck" Salacuse

1932 - 2022

Charles A. "Chuck" Salacuse, 90, of Finksburg, entered Heaven's gates on Friday, July 29, 2022. Born July 18, 1932 in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late William and Florence (Aleandro) Salacuse. He was the beloved husband of 66 years to the love of his life, Patricia Salacuse. Chuck was a Veteran of the United States Navy, proudly serving our country during the Korean War. He worked as a controller for Allied Health and Management, until his retirement at the age of 84. He was a volunteer at Carroll Hospital Center for 16 years and was instrumental in building the meditation garden. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church. Chuck was a loving, caring, giving, humble and compassionate person. He found the good in everyone and has touched many hearts. He was definitely one of God's greatest gifts to his family and friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 4 children, Terry Stritzinger (Paul), Brenda Schachel (Bill), Michael Salacuse, and Susan Zavoyna (Spencer). He was a devoted grandfather to Jeremy Stritzinger (Korinna), Kelsey Bradley (Corey), Christopher Schachel (Justine), Michael Schachel, and Michael Zavoyna. He was blessed with 2 great-grandchildren, Emma and James Schachel. The family will welcome friends on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 11 am at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster. Interment with military honors will be in Lakeview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Carroll Hospital Foundation, 200 Memorial Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
