Gary Lee Wilson, 82, passed away on March 8, 2026, at the Dove House of Westminster, MD. Born on February 8, 1944, in Hanover, PA, Gary graduated from Westminster High School in 1962 and furthered his education earning degrees at Loyola College and Western Maryland College.
Gary dedicated many years to his career as an accountant, working for notable companies such as Bechtel Corporation, Johnson Controls, Coca Cola, and Daedalus Books. He also served in the National Guard, receiving an honorable discharge for his service.
A man of faith, Gary was an active member of Westminster United Methodist Church for almost 70 years where he enjoyed his time with the Stevens Ministry and being a caregiver. His hobbies included raising bearded collies, spending quality time with his family, playing various games, enjoying picnics, and indulging in his love for ice cream. Gary was known for his loving, loyal, faithful, devoted, and humorous personality.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy (Sauer) Wilson; brother, Wayne Wilson of Sykesville, MD; sister and brother-in-law, Linda (Wilson) and Rick Beadel of Ormond Beach, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Becki (Wilson) and Dwain Messersmith of Halifax, PA; son-in-law, Wendell Miley of Woodsboro, MD; grandchildren, Mikayla Miley, Alycia (Enders) Semanco, Bryce Enders, Carter Enders, and Caleb Miley; great grandson, Kayden Semanco; and his cherished bearded collie, Dillan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion “Brownie” and Dorothy (Wagner) Wilson and his daughter, Shari (Wilson) Miley.
MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME of WESTMINSTER, MD is in charge of arrangements. A private celebration of life will be held for immediate family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Gary Wilson to BridgingLife-Dove House, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
