It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Charles “Chuck” Seitter, Sr., on November 8, 2023, at the age of 86. Chuck’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, in the Faith Center at St. John’s Methodist Church at 104 Newberry St. NW, Aiken, SC 29801 at 1:00pm.
Charles was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. In 1971 he moved to a new home, one he designed himself, in Springville, NY. While in Springville he worked at Westinghouse Nuclear Services Facility in West Valley, NY. where he met Mickie.
In the early 1990’s, Chuck and Mickie moved to Aiken, SC where he continued working for Westinghouse at the Savannah River Site (SRS). They were married in Las Vegas at The Little White Wedding Chapel. They enjoyed their time playing golf, tennis and Pinochle games with friends.
Chuck was a life-long Buffalo Bills fan who never missed a game and has still not forgiven them for losing four straight Super Bowls.
As a proud Grandfather (More-Papa) he loved spending time with his grandchildren and tried never to miss the major milestones in their lives. He found great joy in their various activities, including basketball, track and volleyball.
Chuck was a stage four lung cancer survivor, living for the past 15+ years with just one lung. Despite that, he always maintained a positive attitude and continued to travel to spend as much time as he could with his family.
Charles (Chuck) was the beloved husband of the late Maxanne (Mickie) Seitter; father of the late Charles (Andrea) Seitter Jr., David (Patricia) Seitter, and William Seitter; grandfather of Jocelyn Seitter (Jeffrey Hitchings), C. Scott Seitter, Melissa (Max) Most, Samantha Seitter (Garrett Kroner), and Nicole Seitter (Brian Garvey); stepfather of Shelly Bowan (Scott Donaldson), Sherry (Louis) Houff, and Shannon (Patrick) Scanlan; grandfather of Ashleigh Bowan, Julia and Jenna Houff, and Courtney Scanlan (Karl Smiley). Charles is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Cameron and Gavin Most and Simon Hitchings.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
