Charles "Chuck" Campbell Sherman 09/24/1932 ~ 07/08/2024
Chuck Sherman, 91, was born in Troy Michigan on September 24, 1932. Preceded in death: Mother, Clara Victoria Travis, and Father, Russell Sherman. Nine Siblings: Marie Sherman (Ward), Marge Sherman (Durst), Alfred Sherman, Lawrence Sherman, Eleanor Sherman (Attaway), Jeanie Sherman (Rogers), Raymond Sherman, and Deloris Sherman (Vickman). Wife of 67 years, Mazzell Rogers, daughter Regenia, who died at childbirth, and son Charles Michael Sherman.
He is survived by his daughter Reggie Sherman-Trusel (David), granddaughter Beth Trusel of Manson Washington and grandson Justin Sherman (Elizabeth) of Astoria, Oregon and six great-grandchildren; Fiona, Andrea, Sophia, Carter, Hunter, and Charles. Chuck joined the Army January 1953 and was deployed to Uijeonghu, Korea shortly after. He came home for a ten day leave and married his hometown sweetheart Mazzell Rogers in 1954. Once out of the service, he set his sights for Manson, WA. Traveling ahead to stake out some work he then moved Mazzell out from Oklahoma in 1955 where they learned the apple business and became orchard owners in 1972, apple farmers for over 50 years. After starting their family they grew to know some amazing people over the years here in the Manson-Chelan valley, making lifelong friends. Chuck had a deep passion for music and grew up idolizing country singer/actor Gene Autry. He was inspired to write his own music and play guitar while a young man. He wrote & recorded Time Will Tell, Every Day is a Blue Monday, My Saviour's Eyes, Your Like the Wind, to name a few. One of his more recent songs he wrote; It's Apple Pickin Time in Washington. His songs were written about his life experiences and his great love for Mazzell. He was one to never give up on anything, stubborn and a little hot headed at times. His favorite saying was "I'm tough" and that he was to the very end of his journey. He died peacefully with family by his side.
