1938-2022
Charles Skinner age 84 passed away at his home surrounded by his family, Friday, December 16th. Charles was born August 4, 1938 in Pensacola, Florida to Samuel Ellis Skinner and Idell Henderson Skinner.
Charles attended Pensacola Catholic High School and worked at Monsanto/Solutia for 38 years. He enjoyed fishing, sports and gardening. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a long-time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Pensacola.
He was preceded in death by his wife Katherine Treutel Skinner, parents Samuel and Idell Skinner and sister Carolyn Quina.
Survivors include his three children; Cherie Lassiter (Gene), Theresa Gurtowsky (Pete) and Charles Edward Skinner Jr. Grandsons, Steven Rocheleau (Courtney), Alex Rocheleau and Logan Gurtowsky and his two great grandchildren, Roger and Ariel Rocheleau. A brother Roger Skinner (Cindy), Melbourne, Florida and several nieces and nephews. A brother-in-law Jack Quina.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Father Chris Winkeljohn, Vitas Hospice, Suncrest Omni-Laurabeth RN and Allie (physical therapy), his caregivers; Tyler, Bishop, Barbara and everyone who took part in his care.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 22nd from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at Faith Chapel South. Service will follow. Charles will be laid to rest at Clopton Cemetery.
