Charles Hammond Stanton, 82, of White Hall, Arkansas, formerly of Palestine, Texas, passed away from cancer, Tuesday, August 19, 2025.

Born, April 12, 1943, in Rush Springs, Oklahoma, he was the son of the late Doris Stanton and Doris Winship Stanton.

A proud United States Army veteran, Charles received the National Defense Service Medal and was a M-14 Sharpshooter. He was stationed with the 196th as a Pharmacist at the SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe) Station Hospital in Belgium, providing medical care to U.S. military personnel and their NATO allies.

Charles owned Elkhart Pharmacy, in Elkhart, Texas for over 20 years. He specialized in compounding and provided service to the local residents. After retiring, Charles enjoyed spending time with friends and family, watching westerns, and traveling.

He is preceded in death by his wives, Jill Pope Stanton, and Marilisa Safford.

Charles is survived by his loving children, Stephanie Birk of White Hall, Arkansas; his son David Stanton (Danielle) of Los Gatos, California; brother Ronnie Stanton (Maggie); grandchildren, Scout Birk, Sophia Stanton and Ross Rampy (Kaitlin); a great-grandchild, Easton; and many other loving family & friends.

The family extends a special thank you to his nurse, Sarah Hill, RN & Hospice Home Care of White Hall for an outstanding job of providing everything Charles needed; to Brother Lance Hickerson (hospice chaplain) who came weekly to visit and pray, Charles really enjoyed his company; and last, but not least, to Mr. C's (Charles') caregivers, Shelia Johnson, Geniva Smith and Phyllis Furlow, for their love, kindness and compassion. Their care was outstanding and they always went above and beyond their role. Sincere gratitude is given.
