Charles Ray Swink, age 75, of Rutherfordton, passed away Friday, January 6, 2023 at his residence.
Charles was born Tuesday, February 11, 1947 in Rutherford County to the late Grady Swink and Mary Ellen Smith Swink. He was a car dealer who loved everything that had to do with cars. Charles had a big heart and always helped others no matter who it was. He especially loved spending time with his grandkids and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and football games and was an avid fan of Western movies. Charles will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Madge Swink, Pauline Dalton, Ophelia Whietstine and two brothers, Robert and Arlo Swink.
Those left to cherish fond memories are his children Rhonda Robbins (Chris), Freddie Swink, Tammy Carpenter (Tom), Tonda Holland (Robin); six grandchildren, Brandon Swink, Austin Robbins, Breanna Robbins, Sully Carpenter, Sydney Carpenter, Neely Holland and two great grandchildren, Miller Robbins and Jexx Smith; siblings, Ruth Grier, Paul Swink (Cathy), Jeanette Epley (William) and Louise Buff.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at the Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church with Reverend Buddy Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
