Charles “Edgar” Tate, 78, of Mt. Holly passed away at Cardinal Health and Rehab on Friday, November 21, 2025, following a period of declining health.
Edgar was born on September 7, 1947, in Mooresville, NC to the late George Edgar Tate and Virginia Pruitt Tate. He worked as a landscaper and will be remembered for his hard work and dedication. Edgar was a jokester and could bring a smile to anyone’s face. He made friends easily and was always willing to give a big hug to his friends and family. Edgar enjoyed fishing, horses, bowling but most of all spending time with family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Glenda Tate, Betty Looman, Virgil Tate, James Tate and Billy Tate.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sisters; Margaret McQueen, Judy Benton, Barbara Jordan and one brother, Jackie “Jack” Tate.
Also surviving are numerous special nieces and nephews.
Per Edgars wishes no formal services will be held.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Tri County Animal Rescue, 3326 Al Hager Ln, Iron Station, NC 28080.
