Charles Joseph Wilson, Sr. 'Joe', of Charlestown, Indiana, born on June 21, 1944, passed into eternal peace with his savior on October 4, 2024, in Louisville, Kentucky.
Joe is a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend who will be greatly missed. Joe was always a joy to be around. He loved camping, fishing, tinkering in the garage, old westerns, card games, and most all his family. Joe spent his career as a truck driver for DuPont/Conoco in Louisville, KY. He delighted everyone he met with his many stories and asking for $5, but he would give you anything he had and often gave away his last dollar. Joe was a member of Eastside Christian Church in Jeffersonville, Indiana, proud Teamster Union Local #89 member, and a member of Blazing Star Masonic Lodge #224 in Charlestown, Indiana.
Joe was born and preceded in death by his parents, Jennie Lucille Wilson (Haworth) and James Arlan Wilson of Clark County, Indiana. Joe is additionally preceded in death by brothers James Arlan 'Skipper' (Judy), Carl Scott (Candy), Conward Devon 'Punkin'. Joe is survived by his wife, Judy A. Wilson, son's Charles Joseph Jr. 'Joe', Michael Allen (Jennifer), and Justin Wayne (Ari), sister Althea 'Ann' Vangundy (George), brothers Arthur 'Paul' (Gail), Michael Anthony, grandchildren Chad Michael (Karen), Reagan Karoline, Bailey Denise, Kaelyn Pearl, nieces and nephews, and 1 great-grandchild.
The family will honor Joe with a memorial service at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville on Saturday, October 12 at noon with visitation from 10-12. A Masonic Service will precede his memorial service. Joe will be laid to rest at Kraft Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to Eastside Christian Church, 2319 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville. Memories of Joe and messages of support for the family can be shared at www.ScottFuneralHome.com.
