Departed this life on January 29th, 2025. Charlie Carter Jr., age 56, formerly of Richmond. He is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Corbin; his father, Charlie Carter Sr.; maternal grandmother, Susie E. Fogg; paternal grandmother, Amy J. Carter; grandfather, Charlie Turpin; aunts, Elsie Stanley, Sadie Carter and Rosetta Carter; and uncles, Melvin Carter and Charles Morgan. He is survived by one son, Charlie Carter III; one sister, Dionne Hughes; two brothers, Eric Carter and Anwar Corbin (Tisha); three aunts, Gwendolyn Harris, Julie Woods and Susie James; uncles, Samuel Carter and Alfred Carter, Woodrow Harris; a host of cousins, among them devoted, Toleta Bailey; stepfather, James “Butch” Corbin; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where Mr. Carter can be viewed Thursday, March 6th from 10AM to 8PM and where funeral services will be held Friday, March 7th at 11AM. Interment Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia. Family and friends assemble at the funeral home Friday at 10:45 AM.
