Funeral services for Charlie Allen Dry, 80, of Fruitvale, TX, are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, on Wednesday, September 25, 2024.
Charlie was born on September 15, 1944, in Terrell, TX, to parents B.F. Dry and Myrtle Annabell Ellis Dry. He grew up in Terrell, where he attended school. In 1975, he married Dorothy Anna Weilenbeck, and together they raised their family of three boys and one girl in Fruitvale, TX. Dorothy passed away in 1998. Charlie worked as a mechanic for King Chevrolet and Queen City Chevrolet for several years and had a passion for auto mechanics and dirt track racing. He also enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, B.F. and Myrtle Dry; his wife, Dorothy Anna Dry; his daughter, Lisa Dry; and five siblings.
Charlie is survived by his sons, David Allen Dry of Fruitvale, TX, Michael Allen Dry and wife Natasha of Fruitvale, TX, Dale Allen Dry and wife Gina of Lindale, TX, and Cory Crim of Marshall, TX; his brother, W.J. Dry of Terrell, TX; his sister, Lottie Jo Copeland of Elmo, TX; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
