James "Jim" K. Dry, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on October 18, 1945, Jim dedicated a significant part of his life to his career as a welder at Recon Industries, where he worked for 25 years before retiring in 2007.
Throughout his life, Jim found immense joy in the company of his family, especially his cherished grandchildren—Austin, Thomas, and Grace Dry—who affectionately referred to him as "Pops." He took great pride in witnessing their achievements and enjoyed watching them grow up. Jim had a passion for the simple pleasures in life; he could often be found sitting on his porch, a favorite spot where he relished watching cars drive by, particularly enjoying his enthusiasm for Mopar vehicles. His contagious laugh and warm spirit left an indelible mark on all those who knew him.
Jim was not only dedicated to his family but also to his community. He was a proud member of the Westland Sportsman Club and earned the distinction of being a life member of the Mt. Pleasant Township Volunteer Fire Department, reflecting his commitment to service and camaraderie within his community. Jim’s hobbies included meticulously grooming his lawn and detailing his cherished cars, activities that brought him great satisfaction.
He is survived by his loving wife, Anna Marie Dry, whom he married on September 22, 1973. Jim’s legacy continues through his two children, Kevin (Christine) Dry and Buddy (Beth) Dry, as well as his sister, Mildred Dry, and brothers Paul and Barry Dry. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Albert K and Marie Dry, along with his two brothers, Ronald and Donald Dry.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Mt. Pleasant Township and McDonald Volunteer Fire Departments, along with the Ladies Auxiliary, the Mt. Pleasant Township Police Department, and the Fort Cherry Ambulance for their compassionate service and support.
Visitation will take place on April 23, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Graff-Nation Funeral and Cremation Services, located at 218-220 East Lincoln Ave, McDonald, PA 15057, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to The MT Pleasant Twp VFD Truck Fund. 106 Main St. Hickory, PA. 15340.
Jim's vibrant spirit and love for life will remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him. An unfinished project with his grandson will be finished in his memory.
