William Skarupa Sr., 87, of Bulger, Smith Township, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Saturday, August 9, 2025 in Weirton Medical Center.

William was born on August 16, 1937 in McDonald, a son of the late John Skarupa Sr.and the late Lucy Hancq Smith.

Mr. Skarupa was an honorably discharged United States Army Veteran with the rank of (SP5) Specialist 5, focusing on welding. He was also Quarter Master and Commander of the VFW in Bulger. William was a retired welder for Pittsburgh Forging. In his younger years Bill loved building things, working on cars, hunting and fishing. Later in life he enjoyed feeding the birds, hunting for mushrooms and his garden. He always looked forward to spending time with family.

Surviving is his loving companion for 33 years, Vivian Abbott.

Also surviving are his children, William Skarupa Jr., Julie (Blase) Kowalski, Pam (Ray) Scruppi, Barb Skarupa, John Skarupa and Trish (Mike) Sweat, grandchildren, Ali (Justin) Maxwell, Tess Kowalski, Kurt (Kelsey) Kowalski, Nick (Payton) Scruppi, Samantha (Todd) Haynes and Luke Sweat, great grandchildren, Laurel, Crew, Colson, Reece, and Willow. A brother John Skarupa Jr.

Step-children, Angie (Edward) Mehlmauer, Renea (Royce) Kotouch, Shawn (Patricia) Abbott, Greg Abbott and Stacy Abbott, step-grandchildren, Deena Mehlmauer (Mike), Aiden Mehlmauer (Emily), Ryan (Madison) Abbott, Stephen (Kiersten) Kotouch, Christopher Kotouch, Ann McCullough, Alyssa McCullough, Emily Abbott, Matthew (Melissa) Abbott, Caitlin Riffle (Stephvon), Austin Riffle (Alia) and Hunter (Nicole) Riffle and step- great grandchildren, Lillian, Louis, Julia, Hazel, Ava, Reed, Rory, Rivers, Hadley, Parker, Delaney.

Along with his parents, William is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Chelsea Scruppi, and his sisters, Rose Monteleone and Lucy Yurosky, two step-great grandchildren, Oliver George and Stephvon Burlikowski Jr.

All arrangements are private and entrusted to Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc., 314 W. Lincoln Ave., McDonald (724-926-2800). A private inurnment with full Military Honors will occur at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a later date
