Charlie Tyson Hensley, age 61, of Black Avenue, passed away Friday, August 1, 2025, at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born August 20, 1963, in York County to the late Ray Clyde and Nellie Lipe Hensley.

Charlie was a former brick mason. He also had worked on a shrimp boat out of Shallotte, NC. Some of his favorite hobbies were fishing and boar hunting. Charlie was the warmest, most kind-hearted person, and never met a stranger. If you ever rode by his house, you most likely would see him sitting on his porch, waving as you passed by. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Allen "Ernie" Hensley.

Survivors include his sister, Kathy Clark (Doug); brother, Danny Hensley (Malinda); nieces and nephews, Billy Bennett, Jerry Bennett, Krystal Hensley, Heather Hensley, and Josh Gregory; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and close friends, David Seate, Frankie Vincent, and Jerry Crumpton.

A Time of Remembrance will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral and Cremation Services, and other times at the home of his sister, Kathy Clark.
