Charlie Lewis Hill passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, August 18, 2025 at Wellspring Lutheran Home in Frankenmuth, at the age of 86 years. He was born on January 6, 1939 in Bangor, Maine, the son of the late Charlie William and Rena (Ross) Hill. On March 17, 1962 Charlie was united in marriage to Mary James. Charlie moved to Michigan, to the Millington area soon after and began working at General Motors, he retired after 31 years of service from Fisher Body as a crane operator. He enjoyed tinkering and spending time with his family.

Surviving family include his wife, Mary; children, Deborah Bradford, Wava (Kenneth) Ready, Roy Hill, Tammy (Jeffrey) Metiva, Christine (Craig) Rich and Catherine Lee; 15 grandchildren, Heather (Eric) Marcoux, Kayla Bradford, Michael Hill, Veronica Myers, Grace Hill, Kayla (Scott) Young, Zach Metiva, Amanda (Austin) Jacobs, Alicia Kushba, Asheley Rich, Daniel Rich, Nicole (fiancé, Joshua Sprague) Maule, Brandon Lee and Alex Lee; 13 great-grandchildren, Aiden, Josh, Dakota, Jadyne, Carter, Blake, Hudson, Nora, Sophia, Tucker, Abigal, Myla (and one on the way soon, Ryan); sister, Wava Bosworth; brother, Bruce (Paula) Hill as well as many nieces and nephews. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Rena; grandson, Jacob; son-in-law, Robert Lee; sister, Connie Hill; brothers, William and James Hill and a brother-in-law, David Bosworth.

Funeral service will be at 12 noon on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at the Penzien-Steele Funeral Home, 149 N. Main St. in Vassar. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will greet visitors on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at noon. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Cerebral Palsy Foundation or the Shriners Children's Hospital.
