Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. - LonokeCharlie Ross Holt, age 74, peacefully departed this world and entered the gates of Heaven on Saturday, December 6, 2025, while lovingly surrounded by his family.
Born on November 6, 1951 to Hyma Thomas Holt and Bessie Lucille Hearon Holt, his parents raised him in the values of hard work, sacrifice, and service to others; the core of who he was until his final breath. He was known as a steadfast man who always loved abundantly and lived without complaint. He never faltered in his desire to care for those around him, a trait so apparent in his last ten years in how hard he fought to be here for his family, following a massive stroke.
Graduating from Lonoke High School in 1970, he went on to pursue a degree in Agricultural Business at Arkansas State University. His heart belonged to his family and farming, and he quickly made his way back to both following college, devoting himself to building the HT Holt and Sons family farm.
In 1974, he met Lou Jean Neundorf, an Oklahoma native, and quickly knew that he would need to make her an Arkansan and his wife. They married in 1977 and settled in Pettus, AR where they would spend the next 48 years raising their family. Nothing made him light up quite like seeing his wife, but being a doting father to his girls and a proud Papa to his grandbabies were close seconds.
He was a lifelong, faithful member of Caney Creek Baptist Church: a place where he accepted Jesus as his Lord, served as a deacon, prepared countless communions, led weekly hymns accompanied by his wife on the piano, and proudly watched both of his children be baptized.
He will be grieved on this Earth by his beloved bride, Lou Jean “Jeannie” Neundorf Holt; his cherished daughters, Carrie Jo Holt Lowery (Darrick) and Courtnie Janssen Holt; his adored grandkids, Caroline, Charlotte, Holt, and Peyton Lowery; his mother-in-law, Carol Neundorf; sisters-in-law, Cheri Henderson (Brent) and Carla Henderson (Brian); brother-in-law, Eddie Neundorf (Rhonda); nephews, Scott Hill (Tracey), Jeffrey Hill, Trey Holt, Adam Henderson (Michelle), Drew Henderson (Tara), Regan Henderson (Natalie), Manny and Filo Neundorf; nieces, Dianna Stockdale (Todd), Erin Darr (Scott), and Lauren Neundorf; and his precious caretaker, Denise Pauschert. He will also be greatly missed by a host of cousins and dear friends.
He was greeted in Heaven by his parents, Thomas and Lucille Holt; his brother, Hyma Thomas “Tommy” Holt II (Vicky); his sister, Sandra Kay Hill (Pete); and his father-in-law, Lloyd Neundorf.
The celebration of the life of Charlie Ross Holt will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Lonoke Baptist Church with a visitation at 4 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to: Caney Creek Baptist Church, Wade Knox Child Advocacy Center, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, or a charity of choosing close to your heart.
