She dedicated her career to shaping young minds as a beloved teacher in the Detroit Public School District, where her passion for learning and commitment to her students left a lasting impact on countless lives. She approached teaching not merely as a profession, but as a calling to nurture and inspire the next generation. Before her retirement,Charlie worked as an English teacher at the Wayne Regional Educational Service Agency, where she coached classroom teachers in strategies for improving student achievement. While at Mackenzie High School, she served as the acting Department Head of English, supervising the instructional program developing innovative practices with teachers. Her voice rang out joyfully as a member of the church choir, an activity that brought her immense happiness and allowed her to share her love of music with her congregation.
Charlie was a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, embodying the organization's commitment to sisterhood and service. Towards the end of her life, Charlie spent precious time with her sisters and other family members, creating cherished memories filled with laughter. She had a vibrant spirit and loved nothing more than spending quality time with the people she held dear, always ready with a warm smile and enthusiasm for life's gatherings and celebrations.
