Charlotte Wilma Thoman, 70, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Seaton Retirement Community in York. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on August 24, 1955, to the late George and Helen (Heaps) Brown, Charlotte was raised in a military family, living her early years in various duty locations throughout the country until her parents eventually settled in Delta, PA. Charlotte was a 1973 graduate of Kennard Dale High School, and later graduated from the York College School of Nursing. Charlotte worked for many years as a school nurse for Dallastown Area School District, the majority of that time spent caring for the students at Leaders Heights Elementary School. Charlotte loved children, and spent many years teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and singing in the choir at her church. When her health forced her to retire from nursing, Charlotte focused her caring and attention on her grandchildren- they were the light of her life. Charlotte loved the outdoors, and she enjoyed spending time exploring the backroads of northern Pennsylvania with her husband in her later years. Charlotte enjoyed celebrating her 70th birthday in August with her grandchildren, and she and her husband just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in October. Her caring for others and love for her family will be remembered always.
She is survived by her husband William Thoman, daughter Karen Thoman, son Daniel Thoman, and grandchildren Sophia, Evelyn, and Dylan. She also survived by her sister Dawn Doherty and Dawn's husband and family.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 10:00 am until a funeral service begins at 11:00 am at Grace Baptist Church of York, 3920 East Prospect Road, York PA 17406.
