Charlyne Cummings Franks was born on September 23, 1934 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Arthur and Zada Bell Murphy Cummings.

On August 9, 1969, she was united in marriage to Clystine Franks, who preceded his wife in death on September 13, 1999.

Prior to her retirement, Charlyne worked at Harbert Hill Nursing Home. She enjoyed sewing and spending time working in her yard at her home. She was very proud of her flowers and spent many hours tending to her garden. Charlyne attended Southside Baptist Church in Savannah, Tennessee.

Charlyne Cummings Franks departed this life on May 29, 2024 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 89 years, 8 months, and 6 days.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy Donaldson and her husband Jim of Sheffield, Alabama and Janie Cummins and her husband Randy of Savannah, Tennessee; sons, Jimmy Wilkerson and Jerald Wilkerson, both of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Kelvin Wilkerson, Trena Schmidt, Michelle Loux, Brandy Wilkerson, Alexandria Harville, and Damien Wilkerson; and several great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Charlyne was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Wayne Wilkerson; sisters, Lillian Franks and Mary Kathleen Burleson; brothers, Silas "Bo" Cummings, Jake Cummings, and John Thomas "Tom" Cummings; and her first husband, Harve Lank Wilkerson.
