Charmaine Chinita Fongemie, 75, of Peoria Heights Illinois, died on July 29, 2024 surrounded by her 2 daughters and loved ones at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria Illinois. Born in Seattle Washington on September 10, 1948 to the late Harley and Helen (Wobschall) Henderson, along with Cleo Wilson (sister). She married Gilman Fongemie on May 26, 1988 in Meriden, Ct. Gil died on October 10, 2023.
Charmaine is survived by her daughters Misty Mott & Jodi (Thomas) McCoy; granddaughters Melissa (Bill) Bernhardt, Tiffany (Nique) Hobbs, Denice (Alecia) Persinger & Desirae Jackson; nine great grandchildren; Le'Naya, D'ahria, Makenna, Analya, Wyatt, T'ayla, Delano, Kaidyn and Marie; and three great great grandchildren, Angel, Aubriella and Akai.
Charmaine loved spending time with her two daughters. She moved from the Seattle area 3 years ago to be near them. Charmaine retired from Travelers Insurance Co after 20 years then worked part time at Value Village a used clothing store in Seattle. She enjoyed country line dancing and listening to country music. Cher was her favorite all time singer/actress. She also loved to watch old movies and play her simple games on the computer that her son in law (Thomas) built for her. She had a great love for her 2 cats Babygirl and Tarzan who will be greeted by her in Heaven. Charmaine will be missed by her loved ones and friends.
Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services at this time a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cards can be sent from and condolences left at illinicremation.com.
