Waterville - Chase A. Renfro, 27, was taken from this life at home on August 7, 2024, by a sudden cardiac incident. He follows his father James A. Renfro (1957-2021), and his beloved canine companion, Lily.
Chase was born on November 23, 1996, in Hartford, CT to James A. Renfro and Tamara L. Renfro (Soovajian). He attended and graduated from Bacon Academy High School, Colchester, CT in 2014. Chase worked full time at Applebee's in Waterville. It is there that he found the love of cooking, just like his Dad.
Of his many strengths and admirable qualities, his greatest was his immense love for his family and animals to include his dogs: Delilah, Krunch, Lelu; Cats: Rigby, Pekka; Ferret: Skye. If you knew Chase, then you know he had a unique heart. He shared that with others freely ensuring they knew they mattered. Chase's compassion for people was one of the first things you noticed upon meeting him, as if he had been in your life for years. Having his friendship left no doubt that Chase was something special, that the depth of his love and support for those he cared for, was the kind many never get to know in life.
Chase's sweet nature was displayed through his everyday acts. Chase believed in the innate goodness of people, a rare gift. He treated everyone with respect and made them feel valued, regardless of status or social standing. He truly saw the best in people. He made you instantly want to protect him from the world, while making you immediately feel safe. With Chase, the world really could be a better and kinder place.
Chase was predeceased by his grandmother, Cynthia M. Corbett (Levesque) of CT, and great grandparents, Sylvio and Lucille Levesque of Waterville.
He is survived by his beloved mother, Tamara Renfro (Soovajian) of Waterville, ME; his sisters, TSgt Kyra Tierney, Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany and Haley Renfro of East Hampton, CT; his brother, Shane Renfro and Jane of Norwich, CT; his niece, Blake of Germany; grandparents Robert and Nancy Renfro of VA; uncles Brian Renfro of VA, Chris Renfro of VT, Kevin Renfro of NM, William Soovajian; Aunts Kristen Soovajian of CT, Kathy Emerson of SC, Roxanne Daigle of VA, numerous cousins, his animals, and a close circle of friends for whom Chase's passing is a profound loss. Chase existing in this world made it brighter for everyone he encountered. There are not enough words to express the full dimensions of this loss, but his absence will create a deep void for many.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the New Britain Animal Control, 642 Christian Lane, Berlin, CT, (860) 826-3095. Gerald Hicks/Animal Control Officer or Leah Clark/Chairwoman of the Commission on Animal Welfare. Venmo: @leahclark. These two individuals always do what is in an animal's best interest. Chase's first love was his fur babies, this is what he would want in his memory, to do right for all animals.
