Chaya Malka Lemoyne Galin

Chaya Malka (Cheryl) Lemoyne Galin aged 68 of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on August 14, 2023.
Chaya Galin began her Nursing career by graduating with an Associate's Degree in Nursing from San Antonio College. She went on to graduate from Kaplan University with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (Summa Cum Laude). She continued her education by completing her Master's Degree with a Master of Science in Legal Studies with a concentration in Healthcare Administration.
Chaya was a Registered Nurse, licensed in Texas, Connecticut, and Ohio.
She began her career in Nursing at a major hospital in San Antonio, becoming the Charge Orthopedic Registered Nurse. Later, she moved on to work for the University of Texas Health Science Center Department of Plastic Surgery where she focused on microsurgical research and had to the opportunity to train at the University of Louisville, Kentucky Medical School.
Chaya also worked as an Operating Room Nurse for the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, focusing closely on neurological and orthopedic spine cases and craniotomies.
She soon found her calling as a research nurse moving through Orthopedic Traumatology, as well as the burn unit. Within the Burn Unit at Brooke Army Medical Center, she specialized in trauma and burn patients, while conducting studies and implementing and assessing surgical procedures. Finally, she worked as a Human Subject Protection Scientist for The United States Army Institute of Surgical Research (USAISR).
Chaya has a love for her family, especially her four grandchildren, Isaac (14), Ian (12), Isla (8), and Ivy (3). She will be dearly missed, continuously loved but will be remembered for her sharp mind, intelligence, perseverance, and wisdom.
Chaya was predeceased by her son, Patrick Joseph (PJ) Lynch IV, her father, Ronald Galin, and her sister, Tracy Kline. She is survived by her sister, Lori "Lou" Pearson and her husband, John Pearson, her daughter, Lauren Lynch and her husband, Daniel Lora, and her four grandchildren, Isaac, Ian, Isla, and Ivy.
Service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 10:00am at the Mission Park Cemetery Dominion, 20900 IH 10 W, San Antonio, Texas, 78257.
