Zane "Chaz" Brugger, Jr. a resident of Byron, Michigan passed away tragically at work on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, in West Virginia at the age of 29. Chaz, as he was affectionately known, was born on July 20, 1993, in Howell, Michigan. He graduated from Byron High School with the Class of 2011.
Chaz was a proud and wonderful father to Beau and Brooklynn Brugger and stepfather to Harmony and Blake. Beloved son of Susan Svoboda. Loving boyfriend of Hayley Osburn. Loved brother of Kyle (Kloe Hitchcock) Brugger, Shailyn LeMay, Alexis Cook, and Chase Burlingame. Dear grandson of Jane (Bob) Filkins and the late Joseph Svoboda and Laura & John Reynolds. Loving nephew of Joe (Amy) Svoboda, Jim (Janis) Svoboda, Herman Brugger, Penny (Gary) Greenwell, Crystal Pierce, Mallisa Brugger, Glen (Pamela) Brugger, and the late David Brugger. Loving cousin to Brianna, Riley, Alivia, Aubrey, Houghton, Alexis, Christopher (Kelly), Gary, Karrie (Dan), James (Ashley), Robert (Megan), Justin (Karissa), Jennifer (Chase), Joseph (Ashley), Charles, Luke, David, Daniel, Camila, Leonardo, Brandon, Brigitte and Timmy. Beloved great nephew and great cousin.
Chaz was a very talented athlete and loved sports. He excelled at wrestling, baseball, track, and most notably football. He played college football for Saginaw Valley State University, and he held a lot of love and respect for all his brothers on the field. Described perfectly by this quote, "the amazing thing about football is that after a while you become more than a team, you become brothers."
Chaz also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and he could put a smile on anyone's face with his charismatic personality. He was the life of every party and loved having a good time, but most important to Chaz were his beautiful children. Beau and Brooklynn were Chaz's entire world, and forever will be. He was a one-of-a-kind man with a positive and exciting outlook on life, always encouraging everyone to live life to the fullest. Chaz had the biggest heart, and he described his lifegoal as, "I'm here to impact the world positively", along with, "motivate and support those who need it!" Chaz's love for his family and friends will forever be larger than life itself, and he will be deeply missed by many.
Chaz's family will receive friends on Sunday, March 12, 2023 from 1:00 PM until the time of his funeral service at 4:00 PM at the Watkins Brothers Funeral Home, MacDonald's Chapel located at 315 N. Michigan Avenue, Howell, Michigan 48843.

I remember when Chaz was just a little baby when he came to Florida and how I use to play and cuddle with that little bundle of joy. He turned out to be quite the young man, he will be missed by many . R.I.P Chaz.
