Chelsea Marie Cronin, of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the age of 32. She was the beloved daughter of her devoted mother, Sherry Harvey and her partner Robby Giacona, and her late father, Hugh Cronin, whom she loved and missed dearly.
Chelsea is survived by her younger sister, Courtney Dunbar, and brother-in-law, Ian - along with an extended loving and caring family. She was the granddaughter of Al Harvey and the late Sally Harvey, and of the late John "Mike" Cronin and Yvonne Cameron. She was the niece of Kelli Cronin, Michael and Suzanne Cronin, Steve and Christine Cronin, Debbie and Tony Waxler, and Kathy and Mike Gaches. She leaves behind cousins Veronica and Valerie Cronin, and Michael and Jack Gaches, all of whom she loved tremendously.
Chelsea was a bold spirit: loud-spoken, vibrant, and never one to be overlooked in a room (nor would she let you try). Her unique laugh and bawdy sense of humor was a hallmark of her personality. Chelsea made many memories through family vacations thrill-seeking at Cedar Point, and spending summers at Houghton Lake participating in the annual "o-LIMP-ic" games and scavenger hunt, singing karaoke until the early morning, sharing great conversations on the beach at night under the stars, and playing card games together. She was well known for her singing, with a powerful voice that could fill the room with "If I Ain't Got You," or bring you to tears with her rendition of "Jesus Take the Wheel." Chelsea enjoyed growing up in Greenland Sub in Romeo with neighbors who knew how to have a good time as much as she did. Chelsea had a love of dinosaurs, anything lime green, and many cult classic films - with a special place in her heart for The Nightmare Before Christmas as well as Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. She even bore a Hunter S. Thompson tattoo that served as an apt epigram for her life: "Some may never live, but the crazy never die."
Though her life was filled with brightness and color, Chelsea also lived with deep struggles. In her later years, she battled alcoholism - a fight that ultimately led to her early passing. She was unafraid of hard truths, and never tried to hide from life's messiness. She was open, loving, complicated, and deeply human. We mourn her loss with heavy hearts, and celebrate the unique, unforgettable soul that was Chelsea. May she now finally be at peace.
