With great sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the Home-going of our beloved Cheryl Lynn Barnett, who was born on April 12th, 1967 in Bastrop, Texas and went to rest peacefully on February 23rd, 2025 at the age of fifty-seven.
Cheryl grew up in a community of Bastrop attending the public schools and graduated from Bastrop High School, Class of '85.
Cheryl confessed a hope in Christ and was Baptized at an early age. She was an active and supporter member of Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church. Cheryl was strong in her faith and loved the Lord dearly.
Cheryl was the glue that held the family together. She would be the first to stand and fight her loved one’s battles; she was always there to listen and gave the best advice. She was an amazing mother, daughter, family and friend.
Cheryl’s hobbies included spending time with her family, making memories with them and her friends and caring for her grandchildren, spoiling them on any occasion.
Cheryl's journey through life was marked by a deep commitment to her family and friends, forging connections that were characterized by love, respect, and unwavering support. Cheryl leaves in God’s hands her three daughters, Iqualla Barnett; Lecretia Barnett (Billy Butler); Brittany Barnett (Rashard McKinney); her grandchildren, K’Mreya ‘Pocahontas', William ‘Bubby’, Zion, Sariyhia, Kaliyah, Rashard Jr, Jeremiah; her mother, Lareen Barnett (Walter Taylor); and a host of beloved family and cherished friends. To know her was to love her…
