Cheryl Ann Garner

Cheryl Ann Garner was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana to Anna Josephine Whitten and Donald Eugene Garner on December 12, 1956. She gave her life to Christ at an early age and was raised and stayed a passionate member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She served with the Usher Board, Hospitality Team, Wesley Choir (President), Youth Liturgical Dance Instructor, Youth Arts and Music Camp Coordinator and Liturgist. She showed her love for Christ by serving her church wholeheartedly.
Cheryl was a devoted mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren; she was also a second "Mom" to her nieces and nephews. She had a heart of pure gold with so much love to share. Cheryl loved and cherished her family. She took special interest in making sure all of her family were taken care of no matter if it meant going without. She could light up a room with her smile and was dearly loved by so many.
She was preceded in death by her parents Anna J. Whitten and Donald E. Garner, her son Floyd (Jamie) Garner, her brothers Donald Jerome Garner (Romey) and Floyd Darryl Garner, her bonus father James Clifford Whitten (Skeet). She leaves to mourn her children Larresha Garner and Keaton Garner. Her grandchildren, G'Ontae Garner, Tearson Garner, Tensley Garner, Maverick Garner and great- grandchild, Symere Garner. Her sisters Donna Jean Hunter, Denise Garner Harrison (Charles), Barbara Whitten, Dedra Trabue (Terry), Dawn Handley (Anthony), Dierdre Spicer (Wesley) and her brother Robert (Mooney) Whitten. Her lifelong partner of thirty-six years, Charles (Skip) Brown, whom she loved dearly and spent half her life sharing and loving with her best friend Skip. And a host of nieces and nephews.
A Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Eastern Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 4-8:00 p.m. at the church.
