Cheryl Lynn Hogan

Cheryl Lynn Hogan, age 53, of Prairieville, LA, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Lady of the Lake Trauma Center in Baton Rouge, LA.

Cheryl was born on October 15, 1972, in Denver, CO, to James and Dee Hogan. She grew up in Minot, ND, and graduated from Minot High School and Minot State University. She worked her way through college at Applebee's and was promoted to management after graduation. Cheryl went on to manage multiple Applebee's in Florida and Kentucky before owning and operating Gypsy's Sports Bar in Louisville, KY. She was employed by American Commercial Barge Lines in Baton Rouge at the time of her death.

Cheryl was absolutely devoted to her grandparents, James and Jean Hogan, spending every summer of her youth with them. Her father's military career involved relocating, so Henderson was her source of continuity. Cheryl spent her summers shopping in Downtown Henderson and riding ponies on the farm. She was the only girl and was doted on by her uncle who could never seem to say no to her. Cheryl leaves behind her much-loved little dog, Harley Grace; a vast legion of friends and colleagues; and a team of Denver Broncos, who are losing their biggest fan.

In addition to her treasured grandparents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her father James R. Hogan, mother Donna M. Cooleu, and her brother Jason Hogan.

Cheryl is survived by her son Sean Morley of Melbourne, FL; step-brothers Brandon Hogan and Kalen Hogan (Brittney) both of North Dakota; uncle and aunt Jack and Pat Hogan of Henderson, KY; and a host of nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to Cheryl's Life Celebration from 10:00 a.m. until the service time on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson, KY. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with Reverend Mary Wrye officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.
