Rev. Dr. Cheryl Ann Houser

Rev. Dr. Cheryl Ann Houser, 69, of Bellefonte, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Wynwood House of State College. Born on March 7, 1955, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Willis C. Houser, Sr. and Louise M. (Smith) Houser.
Cheryl was a 1973 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. She went on to earn her Ph.D. in Engineering from Penn State University in 1983. She later earned her Master of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary in 1993, becoming an ordained minister in 1997. She served as the minister of various churches for 27 years before her retirement.
She is survived by her siblings: Diana Feltenberger, Willis C. Houser, Jr. (Debra), Philip L. Houser (Sandra), all of Bellefonte, and James A. Houser (Sandra) of Orlando, Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Timothy W. Houser.
Aside from serving as a minister for numerous churches throughout the years, she was active with the Chi Rho Clergy Choir for over 25 years. She enjoyed crafts and singing. Most recently she attended the Greater Buffalo Run Valley United Methodist Church in Bellefonte.
Funeral and burial services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
