Cheryl Jean Wendring, 70, of Fulton, passed away on August 14, 2025, at the University of Missouri Hospital surrounded by those she loved.

She was born on August 22, 1954 in Ferguson, Missouri to the late Jack E. Young and the late Beverly J. (White) Young.

On July 10, 1971, Cheryl was united in marriage to James R. Wendring and together they spent 54 years building a wonderful life.

Her greatest joy was in raising her family, passing down cherished recipes, and filling her home with warmth and tradition. She found happiness in the simple pleasures of life - especially watching squirrels, enjoying time outdoors, and vacationing by the beach, her favorite place to relax and reconnect.

Cheryl also had a strong sense of community and service. In her earlier years, she gave her time and energy working for KPI and organizing numerous fundraisers, always stepping up to help others. Later in life, she brought her entrepreneurial spirit to life by co-founding Dog Gone Glamorous, a dog grooming business she proudly ran for 17 years alongside her daughter Amy and her husband Jim. It was more than a business, it was a place where her love of animals and people came together.

Cheryl will be remembered for her kind heart, her passion for nature, and the legacy of love she leaves behind in her family, her community, and all the lives she touched.

Cheryl is survived by her son, Eric Wendring; daughter, Amy Hoover (Mark); brothers, Jack E. Young Jr. (Jan), David M. Young (Lynn); grandchildren, Kelsie E. Hoover, Shelby R. Ashley (Adam), Austin J. Wendring (Dakota), Kaylee M. Atwood (Jayden), along with eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
