Henry Herman Lechner

Henry "Herman" Lechner, 83, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Herman was born on April 9, 1942, in Fulton to the late Frank J. Lechner and the late Maime B. (Miller) Lechner. On May 4, 1963, he was united in marriage to Kathleen M. (Brewer) Lechner, who survives him.

Herman worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator for Barry Maupin Excavating. He was a hardworking and dependable man who took pride in a job well done.

He was a devoted husband, neighbor, friend, and a man of faith. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life - fishing, farming, and taking long drives through the countryside. Known to many as the unofficial "neighborhood patrol," Henry had a big heart and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Herman's memory will be cherished by his wife of 62 years, Kathleen; son, Michael Lechner (Beth); daughter, Michelle Lechner; sister-in-law, Judy Lechner; grandchildren, Ashley Porter (Adam), Howie Lee Jr. (Madison), Katlyn Bowens (Kevin), and great grandchildren, Kai Williams, and Ivan Lee.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank Lechner (Dorothy), Gene Lechner, and sisters, Martha Hoover (Boyd), Velma Wolfmeier (John), and Dorothy Muenks (Bill).

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Maupin Funeral Home, with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Herman will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
