With heartfelt love and gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of our treasured wife, beloved mother, and devoted sister. Cheryle Anne (Horrocks) Currie transferred to the presence of God at the age of 68, on Friday November 21st, 2025, in Rexburg, Idaho.
She was born in Spanish Fork, Utah on February 24th, 1957, to Richard Christian Horrocks and Annie Irene Sterner. She met the love of her life, Scott Dennison Currie, while attending college. They were married July 24th, 1976, in Milpitas, California. She was an accomplished military spouse and homemaker while they traveled the world and raised their children. They were stationed in West Berlin, Germany twice during the Cold War and Reunification. Around and in-between she helped move her family to and from other military assignments within the US.
Her testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. She nurtured, loved, and mothered people of all walks of life. Known to her children’s friends as “Mama Currie” she touched countless lives with her compassion and generosity.
She shared her love of literature with everyone. She was passionate about helping new
mothers and babies. Cooking and feeding people was one of the many ways she showed love.
Cheryle is survived by her husband, Scott, and their five children: Carrie Anne Currie, Kenneth Christian Currie (Angela Francis Rowe), twin daughters Rachel Elaine Currie and Joyce Irene Montesinos, and Thomas Morgan Currie (Katie Ann Baird). Her three grandkids: Gianni Ann, Brahan Lawrence, and Elaine Joyce Montesinos. Her siblings: Joseph Cleveland Horrocks (Lana Hardy), Jedidiah Christian Horrocks, Merriam Leigh Frazier, Richard Wayne Horrocks (Shawn Michele Farrier), Samuel Charles Horrocks (Pamela Coburn), and her sister-in-law MaryEllen Smith Horrocks. She is reunited with her parents and her brother, Christopher James Horrocks.
Her legacy of faith, family, and service will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be
deeply missed, but we rejoice in the knowledge of eternal families and look forward to a joyful reunion one day.
An intimate memorial service will be held via Zoom on Sunday, December 7th, 2025 @ 3pm MT. Please contact Carrie if you would like to attend.
