Chesnel Edmond Jr. Obituary
Chesnel Jerry Edmond, 54 (born October 29th, 1971), of Milford CT entered rest on November 6th, 2025 surrounded by his family within the care of Yale New Haven Hospital. Chesnel, endearingly referred to sometimes as "Ches" or "Cholo", was the son of the late Antoine Edmond & surviving Delivrancia Edmond, from Cap Haitian, Haiti. Chesnel was blessed with and took pride in a large and loving family with extremely strong bonds. He was raised within the Christian community, participating in the Adventist faith. Chesnel was known to help any and everyone, carrying a passion towards helping his fellow man, and never saying "no" to whoever requested his help.
After graduation from Wilbur Cross High School in 1990, Chesnel went on to St. Paul College and Southern State University in New Haven, graduating with a bachelor degree in architecture and business administration. In 1994, he joined the Navy where he would proudly serve the country he loved very dearly, the United States of America.
Chesnel worked for the United States Postal Service from 1999 until his death, a total of 26 years. He would always speak highly about his co-workers and the family atmosphere they have there.
In August 1997, Chesnel would marry Nadine Jean-Louis, and together they delivered to the world four handsome boys. Chesnel admired his sons and loved them as his treasures.
In honor of Chesnel's legacy and dedication to his family, Chesnel Jerry Edmond is survived by his wife Nadine Edmond, sons Chesnel Jerry Edmond Jr., Jeffrey Edmond, Christopher Edmond, Anthony James Edmond, daughter-in-law Gordae Edmond, and granddaughter Jullissa Edmond; his mother Delivrancia Edmond, brothers Jean Claude Cherizard, Marcus Edmond, Meuse Edmond, sisters Charite Williams, Evanne Edmond Jameison, Luna Edmond, Edvige Joseph, Rodeline Edmond; his aunts Marguerite Edmond, Jeanne Annelus, Louse Charles, Jocelyn Pierre, Josette Pierre, Odette Fucien, and uncles Gabriel Fucien, Alfred Pierre, Philocles Pierre, Eddy Pierre; his nieces Claude-Marthe Cherizard, Kanesha Dukes, Victoria Williams, Quindaya Mouzon, Abigail Meus, and nephews Ricardo Cherizard, Eric Edmond, Samuel Edmond, Christian Williams, James Mouzon, Antoine Edmond, Wadden Meus; his cousins Samson Fucien, Brunie Jacques, Virginie Edmond, John Edmond, Ronald Edmond, Julie Edmond, Mona Michaud, Jeanne Moise, Bridgitte Calisxe, Carline Annelus, Enock Annelus, Dina Annelus, Ruthe Adeogun, Eric Charles, Edmond Charles, Edwin Charles, Junior Charles, Luseny Alphonse, Roland Hippolyte, Alex "Doudou" Hippolyte, Daniel Augustin, Valerie Augustin, John Augustin, Vanel Augustin. This is just a small portion of Chesnel's close knit family that he would stay in contact with, and maintain relationships with.
As a major pillar and present figure within his family and community, Chesnel will be dearly missed by his loved ones and close friends. "Until we meet him again, soon and very soon."
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 at 9:00a.m. at Bridgeport Tabernacle Seventh Day Adventist Church, 717 Clinton Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. Public viewing will be held at the church from 8a.m. to 8:30a.m. Family viewing will be at 8:30a.m. until time of service. "Edmond" (as he asked us to call him) was such a bright ray of light when he walked into our office each day to deliver our mail. He was so polite, friendly and ALWAYS had a smile on his face. We will all miss him dearly. While our time with him was short, his memory will live in our hearts forever. With our deepest sympathy. - All the staff at the Department of Community Services, Town of North Haven.
