Chester Ashabranner Obituary
Chester Glenn Ashabranner, age 95, of Manila, passed from this life Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Monette Manor Nursing Home. Son of the late Herman G and Lillian Pauline Powers Ashabranner, he was born and raised in Manila. He was a 1948 graduate of Manila High School and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree from Arkansas Teachers College in Jonesboro. Chester worked as a Commodity Grader for the United States Department of Agriculture. He was of the Baptist faith and loved hunting, fishing, and farming. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Francis Ashabranner.
Survivors include:
4 cousins, Gary Kisner (Nora) of Manila, Donnie Ashabranner, John Ashabranner, and Terri Morris
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2026, in the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Friends may sign the online guest register at www.HowardFuneralService.com
