Chester Lemler Obituary

Chester Paul "Chub" Lemler, 92, of Tippecanoe, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026.
He was born in Bourbon on Jan. 14, 1934, the son of the late Harold and Ruth (Sechrist) Lemler.
Chester married Joanna McPherron in 1955, and together they raised five children on their farm south of Tippecanoe. She preceded him in death in 2014.
A 1952 graduate of Bourbon High School, Chester worked as a farmer in Marshall County his entire adult life. A faithful member of Tippecanoe Community Church, he was also a member of a euchre club for more than 60 years and served on the Triton School Board for eight years. He loved watching all Triton sports and IU basketball.
Survivors include his five children, Brad (Cathy) Lemler of Goshen, Cindy (the late Scot) Evens of Greencastle, Garry (Maureen) Lemler of Tippecanoe, Andy (Connie) Lemler of Bourbon and Zak (Tracy) Lemler of Bourbon; 13 grandchildren, Stacy (Mike) Blosser, Chad (Jess) Lemler, Nicole (Jared) Jernagan, Katie Evens, Ryan (Erynn) Evens, Shane Lemler, Emma Lemler, Erin (Blake) Hesters, Jodie (Brock) Vermillion, Caleb (fiancée Kaitlynd Heiden-Moore) Lemler, Zane (Becky) Lemler, Skylar Lemler, and Lexee Lemler; 18 great-grandchildren; brother Dennis "Boomer" Lemler of Bourbon; and sister-in-law Nancy Lemler of Tippecanoe.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by siblings, Lamar Lemler, Kenneth Lemler, June Klotz, Richard Lemler, Lowell Lemler and Peggy Briney.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tippecanoe Community Church (2920 18B Road, Tippecanoe, IN 46570).
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Tippecanoe Community Church (2920 18B Road, Tippecanoe, IN 46570) with Pastor George Shoemaker officiating.
The burial will take place in Summit Chapel Cemetery (Bourbon, IN).
Memorial donations may be made in Chester's honor to: Triton Athletic Department (300 Triton Drive, Bourbon, IN 46504) or to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or https://www.stjude.org/give.htm).
