Chester Paul Weand

Chester Paul Weand, 71, of Memphis, TN, passed away on May 30, 2024. Born in Reading, PA, on November 8, 1952, he was the son of the late Chester L Weand and Shirley A Kushner Weand.
Chet, devoted husband and father, as he was known to family and friends, had a distinguished military career, serving in the United States Marine Corp from 1971 to 1975 during the Vietnam War. He continued his service in the Reserve Duty until 1977.
After his military service, Chet pursued a successful career in the outdoor advertising industry, holding various positions over 29 years, eventually becoming the Director of Operations in Memphis. Later, he decided to follow his passion for nursing, earning a degree and working at OAC/DPS until his retirement.
Outside of his professional life, Chet had a wide range of hobbies, including mentoring, hunting, fishing, aviation as a private pilot, cycling, running, walking the dogs, and martial arts.
Chet is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Pamela A Weand of Memphis, his son Adam J Weand of Memphis, brother Alan Weand (Susan) PA, sister Cheryl Weand Raven (Tom) PA, brother Keith Weand (April) PA, as well as extended family members and friends.
A ceremony to honor Chet's life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Toys For Tots, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Smiling Train, or a charity of your
