Chet Joseph Moss

The memorial service for Chet Joseph Moss, 52, of Aberdeen, SD, will be 1:00pm, Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, with Pastor Matt Spoden officiating. Chet died Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital, Aberdeen.
Visitation will be 3:00-7:00pm, Wednesday, October 22, with family present from 5:00-7:00pm, at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 South Main Street.
Chet Joseph Moss was born November 25, 1973, to Julius Zaste and Judy Moss, in Williston, ND. His family moved a lot when he was young, so Chet grew up and attended school in various North Dakota towns. In his younger years, he liked playing with Hot Wheels and Tonka trucks. He enjoyed playing football and baseball with friends in his youth. Chet loved spending time with Grandpa and Grandma, hanging out with friends, hunting and especially loved fishing. Chet also enjoyed driving around in his 1966 Chevy pickup and listening to Metallica. Most importantly, he loved spending time with family, and his children and grandkids meant the world to him.
Grateful for having shared Chet's life are mother, Judy Moss, Aberdeen, and his father, Julius Zaste, Williston, ND; children Jaylind, Tavian (Haylee), and Piper; grandchildren: Bridger, Brystol and Kalen; brother Jeff (Kayla) Moss; aunts and uncles: Carol (Jim), Aberdeen, and Richard (Evelyn), Center, ND; nieces and nephews, and cousins; and his special friend Tracy.
Preceding Chet in death are grandparents Clinton and Emma, aunts and uncles, and his nephew, Austin Moss.
