The memorial service for Donald A. Ferguson, 69, of Aberdeen, SD, will be 2:00pm, Friday, October 24, 2025, at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home. Donald died Sunday, October 19, 2025, at his home in Aberdeen after a nine month battle with lung cancer.
Visitation will be 3:00-7:00pm, Thursday, with family present from 5:00-7:00pm, followed by a prayer service at 7:00pm at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 South Main Street.
Donald A. Ferguson was born on April 24, 1956, to Arthur and Loretta (Staebner) Ferguson in Aberdeen, SD. He attended school in Aberdeen until his senior year in high school. He graduated from Groton High School in Groton, SD in 1974. During his life he worked for a feed lot, Grote Roofing, Jerry's Tree Service, and drove truck for both Harold Orr Trucking and Kevin Rossow Harvesting.
In September 1976, Donald married Joann Krause. Together, they had two children, Albert and Kimberly. On July 25, 2009, Donald married Christina Skinner. In 2013, they moved to Aberdeen to be closer to family.
Donald enjoyed trucking and watching WWE Wrestling. He was often found tinkering in his garage and listening to music. He enjoyed playing casino games and fishing. Donald loved his family and friends and enjoyed cookouts with them. He was a likable person and fun to be around. He had a great sense of humor and amused his children and grandchildren by talking like Donald Duck.
