Stanley Dale Schumacher

The memorial service for Stanley 'Stan' Schumacher, 65, of Aberdeen, SD, will be 10:00am, Monday, October 27, 2025, at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, with Pastor Jeff Whillock officiating. Inurnment will be at Bethany Cemetery, Hosmer, SD. Stan died Tuesday, October 14, at his home in Aberdeen.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 South Main Street.
Stanley 'Stan' Dale Schumacher was born April 4, 1960, in Bowdle, SD, to Herbert and Alice (Dabbert) Schumacher. He grew up on the family farm and attended school in the Hosmer School system graduating in 1978. After graduating, Stan attended Lake Area Tech in Watertown, SD. After earning his degree, Stan worked for Daktronics in Brookings, SD, for a short time. He then started his career at Clark Engineering. For over 32 years, Stan was a surveyor for land, buildings, and roads.
On August 27, 1994, Stan was united in marriage to Roxanne 'Roxy' Odenbach in Aberdeen. They made their home together in Aberdeen until she passed away on September 24, 2015.
Stan enjoyed spending time with his friends and family at Schwan's Recreation and having bonfires at his home. He also liked to do yard work.
Grateful for having shared Stan's life are his special companion, Sharon Schwarzbauer; his siblings: Keith (Marie) Schumacher, Twila Thorstenson, and Shirley (Ed) Farris; eight nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceding Stan in death are his parents, Herbert and Alice, his wife Roxy, and his great-nephews: Thomas and Willem Gehlen.
