Chiyo Yano "June or Chip" Dunn

Chiyo Yano Dunn "June or Chip", 97, passed away on October 29, 2025peacefully in her sleep after a short illness. Chiyo was born in China toSeiya and Kimie (née Wakabayashi) Yano before moving to her homecountry of Japan at a young age. She married Billy John Dunn fromCleburne County, Alabama and they moved around the world for years
with the Air Force before settling in Heflin, Alabama with their twochildren. In her final years, she loved word search puzzles, watchingbirds, and eating cookies. She is survived by her children, Raymond Dunn and his wife, Pamela, of
Helena, Alabama, Joyce Cappellano of Allen, Texas; two grandchildren, Corey Dunn, Stephanie Mestre and her husband, Matthew; numerous
cousins, nieces and nephews here in the US and in Japan. Chiyo was
preceded in death by her husband, Billy Dunn; her parents, Seiya andKimie Yano; her brothers, Katsuya Yano, Shizuo Yano. She will be laidto rest next to her husband of 58 years, Billy Dunn, at Upper Cane CreekCemetery in Fruithurst Alabama.
