Chortip "Tip" Kumpand was born on August 15, 1953, to Pon and

Dome Manawakul in Bangkok, Thailand. On August 14, 2025-just

one day before her 72nd birthday-she went home to be reunited

with her beloved husband, Vinai Kumpand.

Tip moved to Douglas, Georgia, in 1969. While working in a carpet

manufacturing factory, she pursued her education and earned an

associate degree from South Georgia College in 1974, later

completing her bachelor's degree at Kennesaw State University. On

May 15, 1971, she married the love of her life, Vinai, and together

they built a home filled with love and laughter. Their greatest joy

came in 1994 with the birth of their son, Troy Kumpand.

Tip was known for her incredible cooking, quick wit, and devotion

to family. She found peace at the beach, joy in her favorite color,

purple, and community through her involvement in the Thai

Association of Georgia, where she made lifelong friendships.

For 50 years, Tip dedicated her career to caring for others as a

nurse with Wellstar Health System. Her compassion, generosity,

and love for her colleagues touched countless lives, and her work

friends meant the world to her.

She is survived by her cherished son, Troy Kumpand, and her

nephews, Wayne and Clint Anderson, along with many dear

friends and extended family who will miss her deeply.
