Born on September 6, 1977, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Christopher Nelson Wilhoit spent his formative years in the Sandhills and Piedmont North Carolina. He was a 1996 graduate of Asheboro High School. He lettered in football and tennis in high school. He attended Central Carolina and Cape Fear Community Colleges.
The Wilhoit family founded Miracle Movers, which is based in Wilmington, North Carolina. The moving company grew to become a regional leader in North and South Carolina with branches in other states as well. The company motto "Your Property is our Priority" reflected the family-oriented nature of the business from management to its employees. Chris had a big heart and encouraged the family business to reach out to those less fortunate.
He had a heart for giving second chances. He strongly believed a person's mistakes did not define who they were. Chris believed in people when no one else would. He saw potential in others and gave them a sense of confidence and worth. He wanted everyone to believe in themselves and believed they could accomplish the impossible, just as he had. Chris made a connection with every person he met and left a huge impact on every life he touched. His motivation, perseverance, and will to succeed were unmatched.
Chris enjoyed coaching youth sports with his children and their teammates. An avid hunter, fisherman, and boating enthusiast, he treasured adventure with his family. Chris adored his children and family and it was his life's mission to create a beautiful life for them. He was larger than life and lived each day to the fullest.
He is survived by his loving wife, Samantha Piner Wilhoit of the home; sons: Channing, Wyatt, Maddox, and Daxton; daughter: Faith; his brother R. Tyler Wilhoit (Ricky); sister: Lindsay Cox (Blake), and Father Robert Wilhoit (Mary), all of Asheboro; Grandmother: Barbara Mayor of Southern Pines; Uncle Mark Wilhoit of Greensboro; Uncle Donny Terrell, Mother-in-law : Evelyn Canady (David); sister-in-law: Shannon Barber (Philip), all of Wilmington.
