Christian Carl Dohse, age 56 of Marquette, Iowa, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2024, surrounded by family after his 5-year battle with ALS. Chris was born on October 25, 1967, to Richard and Diane Dohse (nee Hedeman) and eventually settled with his family in Gilbert, Arizona, where he is survived by his wife Lynn Pangburn. Chris was the most loving father to Brett Dohse and Marc Dohse; dedicated son to Diane Dohse (nee Hedeman); dear big brother to Ann Dohse, Laura Schwartz (nee Dohse) and late brother-in-law John Schwartz; proud uncle to Nathaniel and Tyler Schwartz; beloved nephew, cousin, and friend to many. Chris is preceded in death by his father Richard Dohse, his uncle Paul Dohse, and grandparents Elmer and Nelda Hedeman and Carl and Frances Dohse, as well as other extended family members. Chris was a proud graduate of Mar-Mac High School in McGregor, Iowa, and went on to receive his master's degree at the University of Iowa. He spent the duration of his successful career in Project Management and leadership roles with many large companies and earned his Six Sigma Black Belt Certification. He was extremely passionate about his work and can be spotted working at a computer in many photos. Chris loved to cheer on his Green Bay Packers and enjoyed watching University of Iowa sports, including his recent favorite athlete, Caitlin Clark. Chris took comfort in the classics and was obsessed with M*A*S*H, Cheers, Andy Griffith, Night Court, 2 1/2 Men and many other old sitcoms. If he wanted to attend a live show, he favored Metallica and U2 concerts. On holidays, family always requested that Chris make his delicious Chicken Marsala or special homemade pizzas with his secret dough recipe. No matter where he was Chris had a big personality, never shying away from a good debate, and his friends and family could always count on him to help with a project or offer some great advice. Special thanks to Team Gleason and the ALS Foundation for their support and contributions to Chris's amazing care. Steve Gleason played for The New Orleans Saints from 2000-2008, and in 2011, Steve was diagnosed with ALS. He and his wife Michel formed Team Gleason to help show that ALS patients can thrive post-diagnosis via different life-sustaining communication devices. As an advocate on the national stage, Team Gleason has brought ALS to the forefront. In 2015, both the US House of Representatives and the Senate unanimously passed "The Steve Gleason Act" to ensure the availability of these devices to ALS patients. Chris was the lucky recipient of some of these devices, for which his family will be forever grateful and is committed to giving back to the cause in Chris's honor. To donate, visit teamgleason.org

Christian was a man hard to describe because he excelled in so many areas. He was a Titan. He was sweet, kind and a protector. He was my husband, friend and so much more. This picture says it all.
