Christina L. Newman

Christina L. Newman, 85, of Salem, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2024, at Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born on April 15, 1938, in Henryville, Indiana, to the late Phillip Linne and Amy (Jackson) Linne.
Christina led a remarkable life, marked by dedication, love, and warmth. She touched the lives of many with her kind heart and infectious laughter. Christina was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
In her professional life, Christina was known for her strong work ethic. She spent 20 years working in a factory, crafting delicate lace doilies with precision and care. Later in life, she brought joy to customers at the Meijer Deli department, where she worked until the age of 80, bringing smiles to everyone she encountered.
Christina's talents extended beyond the workplace. She was a gifted seamstress, finding joy in creating beautiful pieces with her skilled hands. Above all, her greatest joy came from nurturing and raising her granddaughter, Christy, whom she cherished dearly.
Those who knew Christina will remember her for her infectious sense of humor and her vibrant personality. She had a way of making even the simplest moments memorable with her laughter and quick wit.
Christina is survived by her four children: Jerry Robinson of Florida, Alice Robinson of Florida, Terry Newman of Jeffersonville, Indiana, and Darlene (Scott) Newman of New Washington, Indiana. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and five sisters: Dee Sherman of Indianapolis, Indiana, Phyllis Hinkle of Indianapolis, Indiana, Carol Linne of Bardstown, Kentucky, Doris Eades of Henryville, Indiana, and Dian Dixon of Charlestown, Indiana.
In addition to her parents, Christina was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Newman, and her son, Tony Robinson.
In accordance with Christina's wishes, cremation has been entrusted to Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory in Henryville.
